The Pan Asian American Games is a national Asian American basketball tournament based in the NY and Tri-State area. Each team that enters will not only represent their respective organizations but also their Pan-Asian American background in a tournament taking course over one weekend. In 2010, the tournament's second year, the PAAG featured 16 teams from all over the NY and Tri-State area, including teams and players traveling from Boston, Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Orlando, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington DC.
The long term goal of the Pan Asian American Games is to become a nationally-recognized Asian-American event that will continue to draw in teams from all over the nation.
DYNASTY PROJECT
The 3rd annual Pan Asian American Games will be presented by the Dynasty Project with help this year from Mark Lee of Overtime Basketball.
The Dynasty Project seeks to promote youth athletics in underprivileged Asian-American communities through a diverse array of programs including sports camps, educational efforts involving sports management, sports journalism and other community outreach events. Through athletics, our youth can attain many important life values such as teamwork, leadership, the value of hard work and sacrifice, discipline, and healthy living all while getting exposure to programs and resources that might not otherwise be accessible.
As an extension of that goal, the Dynasty Project does not believe in isolating our programs and athletes but rather we want to help Asian-American scholar-athletes become more visible in the great diversity that comprises sports in the United States. We want Asian American scholar-athletes to participate on the highest levels by providing them with necessary resources and community support while getting them involved with diverse athletic programs and communities.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide and support Asian American community-based programs that aid and enrich local populations inclusively through athletics both on and off the field, in the classroom and throughout the community.
The Dynasty Project also provides support and resources to aspiring Asian American scholar-athletes who may not otherwise have access to such programs.
